“…This time, said Brian Jorde, a lawyer who represented Keystone XL landowners and now represents many farmers on the carbon routes, opponents have a playbook to guide them. Landowners have tried to prevent the pipeline companies from surveying their land, pressed county governments to enact moratoriums on carbon pipelines and signed up en masse to intervene in state permitting hearings.
“From being through an 11-year battle and all the twists and turns and the hundreds of lawsuits” on Keystone XL, Mr. Jorde said, “we’ve got a very well-laid-out plan.”

“Summit Carbon Solutions is proposing to build a carbon dioxide pipeline dubbed "The Midwest Carbon Express" that would connect more than 30 ethanol plants in five Midwestern states: North and South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota and Nebraska, spanning more than 2000 miles. The pipeline would run through Iowa for more than 680 miles.
Attorney Brian Jorde is representing landowners opposed to the Summit pipeline.
"The problem is, the use of eminent domain, to take the land of farmers, homeowners so that they can make private profits off this project," Jorde said.

“As public hearings on the Summit Carbon Solutions pipeline are set to begin in South Dakota, the legal jousting over the right eminent domain has begun in Iowa.
Domina Law, a Nebraska law firm that says it has clients in all five states along the Summit pipeline route, has filed a motion in regard to what it calls Summit’s “defective filing” for a permit in Iowa, where the carbon capture pipeline would originate…”
